On Thursdays lesson with Mr T, we started to work towards our main project for AS Media Studies, we were looking at what a 'Trailer' was and what a 'Opening Sequence'. As a group we had to define what each of them was, so we shared all of our ideas and then wrote a couple of lines defining what each of them meant.
'Trailer'
Trailers are film advertisement for a film that is soon to be exhibited in the local cinemas. Most common trailers build up tension and suspense to keep the audience intrigued. However, trailers mostly shown the action and exciting parts of the film, to make the audience go to the cinema to see what all the hype is about.
'Opening Sequence'
A title sequence or a opening sequence is where the films present the key productions and the cast members which are involved. An opening sequence is supposed to grab the audiences attention from the beginning and to keep them interested. Within the opening sequence the director/producer must establish the setting and location and the atmosphere, for an opening sequence to be intense, it has to have a good setting and has to create a good and intriguing atmosphere to keep the audience hyped up.
