Amie Pettitt Thriller
When researching the term 'Thriller Genre' many reliable sources came up with the same information. Even though Wikipedia is not as reliable as people may think, the information was still accurate, so I decided to stick to Wikipedia, I found a large amount of information about the different genres that can appear in thrillers.

According to Wikipedia a 'Thriller is a broad genre of literature, film and television that includes numerous and often overlapping sub-genres.' After reading this synopsis i wanted to find out more about the different sub- genres and how many there were. When researching sub-genres I found that there were many. A list would include:

Action Thriller - which contains lots of violence and an obvious antagonist.

Crime Thriller - Focuses on criminals, murder robberies, chases rather than policeman.

Disaster Thriller - Natural or artificial disaster such as floods and earthquakes

Medical Thriller - In which the heros are medical doctors trying to solve an expanding medical problem.

Psychological Thriller - In which the conflict between the main characters is mental and emotion , rather than physical.

These are just a few examples of different sub - genres, to find out more information about the different genres go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thriller_(genre).
After researching the different thriller genres it has given me a broader area to work with for my opening sequence. From the list above I particularly like the impression the crime genre gives off. For my opening sequence I am going to set a high standard, and portray different aspects of the crime genre.
